Venture seas reddit12/20/2023 ![]() It’s better than it was a few months ago. We had an amazing time, 10/10 would have turned around and gone again this week if possible. MDR servers and head waiter absolutely made our trip better. Cabin steward was professional and efficient and able to grant our few special requests. Very upbeat, only a few solo bartenders seemed quiet, possibly from being stressed out of their minds just keeping up. Which was zero reflection on the crew.īUT…staff seemed to have found their post-restart groove way better than five months ago. It even rained four days of our voyage, and we lived on Dramamine until afternoon of the 7th day. It still wasn’t what it was before, with what felt like endless wait at the bar every time because of not enough staff, endless crowds in the Windjammer, and slow service times in the MDR, and there wasn’t even an explanation I heard for the loss of Saturday Night Fever and the acrobat troupe…a variety show, a comedian, and a singer took their place and didn’t even interest me enough to check them out. I think that experience helped adjust my expectations for this voyage. What you describe was our experience in December. What's in the box? What's in the box? What's in the box? So if you find yourself reading this, Please Go, Have Fun, Be safe.but maybe lower your expectations a tad this time. We still talk about our first Cruise director and activities coordinator. Some of the fun wild adult games have been removed because of Covid so that was a bummer and Cory our cruise director was Bland. Sorrento pizza and Buffalo wings from Room service are the way to go. We ate at 5 specialty restaurant's and I wouldn't go back to any. ![]() The boat is beautiful, the staff DID work tremendously hard, BUT the Food needs an overhaul. We love Royal Caribbean and were just disappointed. Main Dining room-Jantawan and Yasaīoleros Bar- Marita. Also I was surprised with how many hand sanitizers were empty. There were a few spots we smelled sewage and that's obviously not pleasant. We tip, I always make sure to let them know I appreciate their help and try to engage and be friendly, but half of the people might as well said "shut up and go away." I could go to my local Applebee's if I wanted that. Bartenders seemed angry and just un-happy. Many mistakes when pouring our drinks or serving us in the Main Dining Room. Less interactions when passing in the halls or sitting at the bars. This trip just seemed like the staff had taken a step down. ![]() I had only cruised Pre-Pandemic prior to Allure so maybe we were spoiled, I don't know. So I feel like 6 ships later I should have some idea of an "expectation" when on board. I haven't cruised much but have earned enough points to be awarded platinum with 39 days at sea. ![]()
